End of the Road?

Sigh. There really is no easy way to put this. So I guess I’ll just lay it all out as it stands.

Money is problematic right now, and I’m sure there are plenty of you who can relate. In our case, we’re behind a month on rent, and perhaps more important than the threatening letters we’re getting from the landlording corporation is the letter we’ve received from Rogers, our cable internet provider.

Quite simply, they want $400 dollars within five days (perhaps four now), or else we get cut off.

Which leaves us dead in the water. Red wouldn’t be able to work, which is the most urgent part of that predicament. Plus, it would cut down on my own ability to job hunt online, and (more relevant to you if you’re reading this) render my work on PMO and AMN inoperative as well. Not to mention, I’m actually trying on a couple of paying jobs of which being online is nothing short of a requirement.

…I MIGHT be able to talk them down to $200, since they’re adding this and next month’s bills together, the latter of which would not be due until the 10th of December. Even so, it would leave us in a dire strait.

That’s basically the gist of it. That’s where we are now.

And it leaves me in a hard, but uncomfortably familiar position. I have to ask that if anyone’s able to spare a few bucks here or there, if they can send them our way. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and this probably ranks among our worst. And believe me. I don’t like doing this, at all. I’d rather be doing favors than owing them. I’d rather be getting people Christmas presents than cyber-peddling for cash and watching the days go by as people do their thing while we struggle to make it another month and resort to Tuna Helper for Thanksgiving dinner.

But as it is, I’m left with no alternative, and no where else to turn. Again.

And with that, I guess there’s nothing more to say, except that if you appreciate what I manage to do so many nights a year here, anything you can offer up would be appreciated if you’d like for me to keep on doing it. Otherwise, expect the site to soon go dry for an indefinite time.
