Ok, so it’s come to a point where I’m going to do the last thing I wanted to do, at least insofar as PoisonMushroom.Org goes.

After tonight’s update, I’m going on hiatus. Might update on the weekend, but right now I need to focus on other things. Getting one’s card rejected at the grocer– twice– isn’t fun.

I need to ramp up my efforts in finding work, and I think PMO, as much as I love doing it, is hindering me. Those roughly 20 items a night take several hours to find, code, and type up something that someone might be amused by, and I’m going to need that energy elsewhere. It’s not paying the bills, there’s not that much ad clickage, and that lovingly sprited donation box hasn’t received a single click. Not that I expected this stuff to flood me with cash, but truth is, until I have work, it effectively makes PMO a money hole.

I really didn’t want to do this, because I’ve managed a certain sort of discipline in updating wherein 99% of the time, the only times I don’t update are when I literally can’t. And I’ve seen so many websites, webcomics, and the like that have gone on some sort of hiatus, never to return, or only sporadically, and it never quite seems the same. I don’t want that happening here, but I finally feel I’ve no choice.

Maybe with any luck, this will only be temporary, but as I’ve learned in the past year, temporary can still be a long time. Hopefully I can get the bulk of what I need to do completed sooner than later, and can return to doing these updates. Or God willing, get something where I get paid in tandem with finding this stuff.

If you have a Google homepage, you can also add PMO to it and be notified when updates occur, simply by clicking here.

I thank those that have supported PMO, and hope that you will endure this hopefully-brief lapse of coverage.
