Ok, folks: Christmastime is around the corner, and this week, the Mrs. and I head deep down south to visit some family for the holidays, after what’s been something of a rough year. With any luck, it’ll be a good time– I myself am bringing a full assortment of Wii games, and am hoping to get my dad into Wii Sports Golf, but that remains to be seen.

On a slightly-related note, you might remember a video a while back which showed ExciteTruck being played with the Wii Wheel. After not having played the game in some time, I decided to give that a shot, something I’d been meaning to do. Results aren’t guaranteed, but I found the game more enjoyable this way than with the Wii remote by itself. I recommend at least trying it.

Anyway, back to Christmas. I have no idea when/if I’ll be updating until after the New Year, so I figured I should give you guys fair warning. And in addition to that, I want to wish everyone a merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah, a kwaazy Kwanza, a tip-top Tet, and a solemn, dignified, Ramadan.

And I leave you with a couple of retro Christmas-themed Nintendo commercials.

And what the heck– it’s the holidays. Here’s some SEGA:

…quite an improvement there, I’d say.

You can find plenty more retro Christmas commercials, video game and otherwise, at X-Entertainment and Retrojunk.
