Like him, love him, or hate him, it seems most people have an opinion about the somewhat-disturbing character of Tingle, a middle-aged man who wants to be a fairy.

As some of you no doubt have heard, Nintendo is giving the peculiar character his very own game, titled “Mogitate Tingle no Barairo Rupee Land”(literally translated as “Tingle’s Freshly-Picked Rose-Colored Rupee Land”) for the Nintendo DS.

A game with an interesting premise, unique gameplay, and a bit of humor tossed in on top of that(many of the battles, for example, see you engage in a cartoon-like dustcloud-inducing brawl) that revolve around Tingle’s quest for Rupees, it is so far only planned for a release in Japan.

However, Nintendo is interested in finding out what people outside of Japan think, and are conducting a survey for MyNintendo members which may help see this curious and inventive new title see an international release.

Or, conversely, doom Tingle to a more relative obscurity.

At the very least, read up a little on the game before casting your votes. It may just interest you a bit more than you think.

    I’m pro Tingle. VOTE TINGLE

Actually, I didn’t realize that Tingle was a Zelda character, or that he was literally a middle aged man.

Well that just makes it even better, doesn’t it?

Tingle is one of those things the japanese absolutely adore and the majority of the west looks upon and shudders. I’m shuddering. He’s also a part of why I haven’t played Wind Waker yet.
