M.E.G.A. On! part 2

Since, as far as I can tell, people can’t take a joke(“M.E.G.A. On!” was entirely by me, folks), I thought I’d offer this follow-up regarding the possible catchphrase for the morphing sequence of the upcoming Mega Man ZX.

As I was waiting at the bookstore to meet someone yesterday, I flipped through a couple of gaming magazines including Play and Game Informer.? One of them(sorry, I forget which) had a review of Mega Man ZX, giving it a 9 out of 10.? The only negative was something along the lines of old-style Mega Man gameplay, which was also noted as “fine by” the reviewer.

During the review, there was also the use of a phrase to trigger the morphing sequence, and if I remember correctly, it went something like “Meta-Encapsulated Granule Awareness SYSTEM, activate!

Not as punny as “R.O.C.K. On!” but there have certainly been worse call-outs.

I’m not sure if it was meant to be an official term from the game, but the reviewer also refered to the process as “megamerging.”

Unfortunately, I don’t believe any mention was made of the vocals within the game, but I didn’t get to pore over the review with a fine-toothed comb, either.

So at any rate, hopefully this will alleviate some fears people have of “M.E.G.A. On!”, even if there’s still an outside chance it could still be used.
