Metroidvanias

Toastyfrog is in the process of creating his own game, and in this process, he has been exploring the free-roaming 2-D exploration-type genre, often simplified as “Metroidvania” type games, as of late.

To that end, he has begun a new series(?) of pieces looking back upon the history of this type of gaming, starting with 1987’s Metroid.

Sadly, it seems some of the pics won’t show, but it’s a nice piece all the same.
